Catholic church launches first US St. Jude arm tour
Beginning this month, the arm of St. Jude will depart Italy to tour churches, schools, prisons,
and other locations across the United States for the first time, according to a Catholic evangelism organization.
The relic of one of Jesus' 12 apostles, considered the patron saint of hopeless or difficult causes, will make its first visit at St.
John Cantius Church in Chicago on September 9 and will continue on tour until May 2024.
Thousands of tourists are expected at various stops over the nine-month journey,
according to local news outlets and church organizers. Treasures of the Church said in a news statement on Monday that the tour
offers a unique opportunity for devotees and the curious alike to have a relationship with one of the most respected persons in Christian history,"
according to Catholic News Agency. "The apostle's visit is an endeavor by the Catholic Church to give consolation and hope to all who need it,"
