Cowboys Get Unfortunate Injury Update On Starting Wide Receiver
According to an insider with the Cowboys named Clarence Hill Jr., wide receiver
Brandin Cooks is participating in today's practice session with the Cowboys' rehabilitation group while he nurses a sprained MCL injury.
In his first game with Dallas, Cooks hauled in two receptions for a total of 22 yards as the Cowboys routed the New York Giants by a score of 40-0.
Before being acquired in a trade in March, the wide receiver, who is now 29 years old, had spent the previous three seasons playing for the Houston Texans.
At this time, Cooks' participation in Sunday's game against the New York Jets in Week 2 is labeled as questionable due to an injury.
Michael Gallup, Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin, and Jalen Brooks will be asked to step up as pass-catching alternatives behind Lamb if he is unable to play.
KaVontae Turpin is also an option. The game on Sunday will begin in Dallas at 4:25 p.m. Eastern Time (ET).
